Appraisers of Fine Art, Antiques, Collectibles, and Household Goods, since 1965
You may own an item or several items, which you are interested in selling, but have no idea as to what the items should be sold
for. Basically this service involves going to your residence and examinining the pieces. If we feel that the pieces require or deserve
an official appraisal, we can then proceed with that appraisal at "
Market Value" (for the purpose of selling). In this case the
market value is what you should ask when advertising the item. Often to lessen the headache of selling an item we will advise
you to simply have the item auctioned off, in which case the market value is lowered to what we think you may get at auction.
It
may also be in your interest to have an appraisal done in terms of replacement value, so that you can show its "
Replacement Value"
to prospective buyers.
If we determine that your items have no real inherent value, then we will tell you
so, see "
Consultation". When dealing with certain items, i.e. artwork, often we cannot give you an accurate appraisal without
doing research, therefore for most artwork an official appraisal is best.
If required we will also advise you
on how to best sell the item.
If we feel that the item is of sufficient value and possesses sufficient demand, then
we maybe willing to see if we can actually facilitate the sale of the item (our Bokerage Service).
